Getting married

Birkhill castle is a fully-exclusive venue so you and your loved ones can have the castle and grounds all to yourselves. You can book the castle for a minimum of 2 nights which will allow you to fully unwind and soak in the scenery that the 1500 acre estate and Firth of Tay offers. There are endless ceremony location options to choose from both inside and out.

We can seat up to 50 guests in our ballroom which leaves plenty of space to enjoy a delicious meal and to dance your hearts out in the evening. There are 13 luxurious double rooms, 2 singles, 1 twin and a nursery that can sleep 6 children.

Why not kick off the celebration with a welcoming glass of champagne on the lawn, gather in the elegant drawing room or stroll beneath majestic 300-year-old oak, beech and redwood trees in our woodland gardens.

Relax before the big day with a game of golf at nearby St Andrews or for the more energetic, with a laughter filled afternoon of Scottish Highland games at Birkhill. Roaring fires and hot whisky toddies in the snow; champagne and summer cocktails on the beach – Birkhill castle is just the right year-round location for your wedding.

Both options come with full use of the castle and the estate and can sleep up to 36 people. Depending on what level of service you require, we can assist you so that your day is one to remember.

  • This package allows you to hire the entire venue and rooms with an award-winning chef and staff for the entire stay.

    We can sleep up to 36 within the castle and can seat between 40-50 in our ballroom.

    INCLUDES:

    • On-site Castle Managers who will assist with activity planning and organisation for your entire stay

    • Venue Hire

    •Catering for entire stay including the wedding day (ingredients separate)

    • A Butler Service for entire stay

    • Staff for entire stay up to 36 guests

    • Car parking area for guests

    • Use of estate walks, beach, walled garden, tennis court and outdoor swimming pool

    • Provision of tables and chairs up to 50 guests

    • All crockery, cutlery, glasses and linen up to 36 guests

    NOTE: Ingredient and alcohol cost is not included and is to be discussed directly with the chef.

  • This package gives you the flexibility to plan your day with your own caterer and staff sourced externally.
